Sneaker history

Help: People love to read about the history of a sneaker. What inspired the design? Was it part of a set? What year did it come out, and in how many colours and style variants? Comment is cool, but facts rule!

1991, Made in Korea. Neoprene and Lycra upper, with supports made up of shaped rubber side strips and an elastic heel strip with a Dynamic Fit“sleeve”system, complete with variable lacing. The lack of a rigid heel guard reduces the risk of irritations to the Achilles tendon. Phylon anatomic midsole with two Nike Air units: one under the heel, the other under the forefoot. BRS 1000 rubber Waffle sole, with flexible shaped grooves that follow the natural movements of the foot. Initially designed for road running and long mileage, the technology at the core of the Air Huarache was also applied to tennis shoes and basketball sneakers throughout the '90s. It wasn't very successful in Italy, probably because of its untraditional and innovative aesthetics.
